Discover the City of Roses in full bloom at the International Rose Test Garden. Tucked into the hills above downtown, this spectacular award-winning garden rests on four sprawling acres and features 8,000 roses – along with stunning views of Portland and snow-capped Mt. Hood beyond.

Take a guided tour from a trained volunteer to learn about the garden – and the city's – storied history, or wander paved paths past fountains and terraces and stop to smell the roses at your leisure. From sunken gardens with statues and sculptures to the Miniature Rose Garden filled with perfectly petite blooms, the grounds showcase more than 600 varieties of roses in nearly every imaginable shade. You'll also find a pavilion overlooking formal gardens of Gold Award-winning roses, the Royal Rosarian Garden, the Shakespeare Garden, and more, all set against a beautiful downtown-Portland backdrop.
